Classic Castle Exterior
During my time on AC Shadows, I was a material artist being part of the Architecture team. In this post, you can see a collection of materials made for Classic Castle Kit exterior. What defines this castle is the abundance of white color, both on its Shikkui plaster and wooden beams. Combined with its beautiful ornamental pieces, ceramic tiles, and massive fortification stone walls, it presents a truly spectacular look. Thus, we were trying to capture that feel through modeling and texturing of the castle. I collaborated with the kit owner Hugo Lamarre to define which type of material surfaces were needed to cover the kit's needs. Then I produced blend recipes to ensure we have believable aging and weathering effects on our surfaces. The final polish of the kit was done by the outsource team.
We worked really hard to bring feudal Japan to life, and I hope it shows in the game. It was a dream come true to work on such an ambitious project with so many talented artists. Please check their fantastic work too:
