Digital Matte Painting from The Truman Show. Oddly enough, this one was not done with Photoshop. My boss and VFX Supervisor Craig Barron was really interested in increasing the fidelity of our matte paintings with better than 8 bit color depth even back in the 90_s. In order to do this he suggested I use Amazon Paint (nothing to do with Amazon.com) which was, I think, the only software back then that allowed you to paint in 16 bit, at least with layers. It later evolved into Piranha, I believe.
