I had the privilege of designing Cybertron for the Bumblebee film. The design was very much based on the original G1 cartoon that I watched as a kid. We tried to emulate the cool blue of the planet with huge golden canyons and swooping retro roadways. It was fun to add some celestial skies, common in space art, as well. Unfortunately, there was very little time to develop as the sequence was added very late in post production so I wasn_t able to detail the structures as well as I would like. Luckily ILM_s environment department, under the supervision of Jason Smith, created the amazing and fully detailed final environment in the film.
