Winter is coming and thus I have another little asset to showcase. Ive always wanted to make a proper revolver with functioning internals at some point. Combine that with the release of Isonzo, plus way too much Eros Ramazzotti in the ears and voilà, the Bodeo 1899 has been realized. -The Bodeo Mod. 1889 served as the standard service revolver for the Italian Army after its adoption in 1891 and saw usage during the First World War aswell as during World War II. It is a gate-loading revolver using the large caliber 10.35mm Ordinanza Italiana cartridge. As a safety measure, the loading gate is connected to the hammer, and opening the loading gate disconnects the hammer. Pulling the trigger after that will only turn the cylinder and allows for relatively fast chambering of new cartridges. All in all, its a relatively simple mechanism with few moving parts. This helped with reliability and repairability over the entirety of the revolvers very long service life.-A few versions of the revolver exist, with two major ones the Enlisted or Trooper type (Italian da truppa, also known as Type A, tipo A) with a collapsible trigger assembly, and the Officer type (Italian da ufficiali, also known as Type B, tipo B). A third variant similar to the Tipo B the allegerito (lightened) variant also existed later down the line. This model has them all, with differing parts being modular and interchangable. This way, all variants can be achieved with one prop.-I kept the project entirely within Blender this time, utilizing the all-well-known Remesh Corrective Smooth workflow for bigger pieces, and traditional sub-D where it made sense, especially with smaller parts.
