This is a little project I put together to see how far I could push the lighting and displacement features of Toolbag 3.I'm a big fan of H.R. Giger's work and 'Alien' is one of my favourite films of all time so it was nice to try to emulate the look of such a film in realtime. I used some of Toolbag 3's powerful lighting and fog features to get the same thick atmosphere used in the film as well as using Substance Designer to recreate some Giger-esque alien detailing for the walls. Although the mapping drone at the center of the image is more inspired by Prometheus than Alien I added it because I wanted to have a focal point for the image and I liked the idea of trying to achieve the red lasers emitting from the drone.I will be doing a complete breakdown for the image over the coming weeks for an article and I will upload some of the extra content here and a link to the article once it is available online, so stay tuned!
