Digital Matte Painting from a privately funded film from the Mormon Church. The bottom is 2 plates of people stitched together and the pyramid on the left was a big professional miniature. I built the smaller pyramids out of masonite and painted them up. Additional Matte World Digital crew include CG people and birds by Morgan Trotter, final comp by (I think) Paul Rivera, and VFX Supervision by Craig Barron. Done in 1999 and released in 2000. The great challenge for this film was that it was shot in 70mm requiring almost 5k matte paintings that took weeks to flesh out all the detail. I remember by Photoshop file taking about 15 minutes to save.
