This project has a more personal element to it than others. When I was a kid, my grandad used to proudly show me his beer bottle cap collection, he had dozens of them, maybe that_s what made him a heavy drinker lol, but it_s another story I thought it will be cool to recreate something like that in 3D. So I modeled a crown-shaped cap in Houdini, made some distortions, and scattered them on 3 planes, then I run a simulation with a bulletsolver to create a pile and made it tileable. Baked the maps and exported to Substance Designer where I finalized the material. Hope you like it!
