Took a couple weeks to put together the first visuals prototype for my dream game project! I wanted to test the viability of the unfiltered pixel texture style I have been learning over the last few months in Unreal Engine 5. As a solo dev, this style will greatly reduce the complexity to build and iterate assets, as well as give the game a more unique look and feel. Another huge benefit is the models are low poly and the texture sizes are very small providing practically built in optimization.
The planned game will be an adventure FPS that takes place in a mysterious forested zone that is completely surrounded by massive walls. The player_s campsite will be an important location they travel to and from throughout their journey. At night, players will face groups of roaming enemies including patrolling aircraft.
This project will continue to utilize Unreal Engine 5. I plan to keep prototyping and begin full development mid 2025. Please note everything seen here is a very VERY early prototype, the visuals will change and improve greatly over the course of development.
